If the new bill passes, "GTA5" may be banned in the United States

If the new bill is passed, "GTA5" may be banned in the United States. In fact, this is not the first time the series and its developer R Star have attracted the attention of the US government and legislators, but it is indeed the first time in a long time. The last time "GTA5" attracted public attention was the game's Rep. Marcus Evans from Chicago, USA is trying to amend a law that began in 2012 that prohibits minors from buying certain video games.

Last week, the legislator submitted an amendment to HB3531, his purpose is not only to prohibit minors from buying games with "psychological harm" and car hijacking, but also to prohibit adults from buying. Evans explained that this type of game promotes criminal activity and further harms the community.

"The bill will prohibit the sale of some of these games that promote some activities that our community is suffering from."

Early Walker, the founder of Operation Safe Pump (partner of Evans on this bill), specifically mentioned GTA5. He said: "I feel that this game has become a big problem in this area. When you compare these two, you will find that there are many amazing similarities with these carjacking cases."

In addition to banning the sale of games that fall under the above standards, the bill will also change the definition of "violent games" to "control the characters in video games, encourage players to implement interpersonal violence, kill or kill in the game Cause serious physical or psychological harm to another person or animal in other ways."

Up to now, neither Take Two Interactive nor E3 host ESA has issued a statement.
