New York cinema reopens on March 5

In the United States, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other box office places, there has been no cinema business for as long as a year, which has caused the five Hollywood blockbusters to delay the release time of blockbusters again and again. The box office boom of the Spring Festival in mainland China has also made many American cinema practitioners envious. Recently, New York governor Cuomo announced that New York cinema will reopen from March 5, but it must meet the attendance rate of 25% and no more than 50 people per screen.

The first Hollywood blockbusters New Yorkers can see are the cat and mouse live action movie on February 26 and the Dragon hunt legend on March 5. At present, about 38% of cinemas in North America have been opened. It is not clear when Los Angeles, the largest ticket warehouse and the more serious epidemic area, will reopen.

The reopening of the cinema does not require the audience to have nucleic acid testing, but they must wear masks. The government also asked cinemas to strengthen air circulation because of concerns that indoor gathering would increase the intensity of infection.

The National Association of cinema owners (NATO) also issued a statement saying: "strict and voluntary epidemic prevention measures enable us cinemas to operate safely at a higher attendance rate. No COVID-19 has ever been traced back to the cinema. New York is the main film market in the United States. The re opening of New York gives film distributors the confidence to set blockbuster schedules. This is an important step in the recovery of the entire film industry. We look forward to increasing the screening rate from 25% to 50% in the future, so that cinemas can operate normally. "
